Company History

 

In the late 1920’s, Vaughn-Huff Belting Company was founded. James E. and Bessie Vaughn bought the company in the early 1930’s and changed the name to Vaughn Belting Company. Between 1930 and 1951, the company operated in several locations in the Spartanburg area. The Vaughn’s ownership continued until it was purchased by Mr. Joseph C. Alberts, Jr. in 1951. Joe Alberts operated Vaughn Belting Company and was a leader in the loom parts recovery and leather sales to the textile industry. Vaughn Belting Company was purchased by Joseph F. Schachner Jr. in 1987 and continues to fabricate and sell leather as well as power transmission products and endless belts among many other items.
